The Preventing and Fighting Common Chargebacks for Merchants course is a self-paced, intermediate level course covering the most common chargebacks that merchants may need to fight. Payments and fraud prevention professionals will learn how chargebacks impact merchants, risk factors that may make certain merchants more vulnerable to chargebacks, merchant tools, when to fight chargebacks, and how to prevent and fight the most common chargebacks faced by merchants.

The course is developed by the MRC in partnership with Chargeback Gurus and peer-reviewed by the MRC Education Committee.

  • Determine which factors to consider when deciding whether to fight or accept a chargeback
  • Examine types of evidence that can be included in a chargeback representment
  • Outline how to prevent and fight the following types of chargebacks:
    • Fraud
    • Cancelled Recurring
    • Cancelled Merchandise/Services
    • Declined Authorization 
    • Merchandise/Service Not Provided

RAPID Edu Refund Policy

For the RAPID Edu program self-study courses, refunds and cancellations are determined on a case-by-case basis. Cancellations and requests for refunds must be communicated in writing to programs@merchantriskcouncil.org. Refunds will not be issued once a course is started. Additionally, courses must be completed within one year of the course enrollment date.
