Marketing Copywriter and Content Manager

As a Marketing Copywriter & Content Manager at Merchant Risk Council (MRC), you'll be responsible for writing compelling copy that boosts member engagement, improves acquisition and retention campaigns, and drives users to our website through paid advertising and SEO. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams and designers to develop website content, create engaging emails, and write compelling ad copy. The ideal candidate should know how to apply data analytics to personalize and optimize content that aids in fostering target audience engagement. The Marketing Copywriter & Content Manager’s duties will include producing and publishing content, writing, editing, proofreading, and formulating content strategies, among other tasks. The Marketing Copywriter & Content Manager should be comfortable finding creative ways to expand our online presence and use analytics to develop a content roadmap.

Work Location: Remote/U.S. (Preference given to MA, PA, GA, OR, OK, WA, TX, VA, CO, IL, FL, CT, NM)

 

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create compelling content that is value-driven, engaging, accurate, and appropriate for various audiences in the form of emails, website content, paid ads, social media posts, presentations, articles, brochures, etc., for a range of marketing channels
  • Write and edit content for clarity and consistency, brand and messaging accuracy, appropriate tone, overall cohesiveness, flow, grammar, and accurate referencing
  • Work collaboratively with internal cross-functional teams to research and write content for use in various stages of the marketing funnel
  • Collaborate with the marketing manager and director on writing high-converting copy for blogs and articles that incorporate industry insights and SEO data for increased click-through rates
  • Monitor and analyze the social, website, and paid advertising performance metrics to make necessary content adjustments with the goal of conversion optimization and organic search ranking improvement
  • Evaluate, develop and update website content to stay aligned with the organization’s strategy
  • Create content calendars, manage assignments, and ensure all content is delivered on time
  • Suggest improvements in process and productivity optimization 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Advertising, Writing, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or English
  • Proven work experience as a copywriter (3+ years)
  • eCommerce Payments and Fraud Prevention/FinTech industry experience is required
  • Creativity and the ability to develop original, engaging, high-quality, and high-converting content
  • Clear, concise writer who can distill complex ideas into easily understood language
  • Strong understanding of SEO/SEM concepts\
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects and remain flexible as priorities change
  • Portfolio of published work
  • Ability to travel within the USA and internationally
