Bad bot traffic grew 124% in the past year, more than 9x faster than human traffic, while AI agents are increasingly reaching login, cart, and payment endpoints that fraudsters use for card testing, account takeover, and promotion abuse. Based on more than a trillion requests across 75,000+ sites and a test of 21,491 popular websites, the State of Bot & Agent Security Report 2026 reveals that 65.3% of websites are completely unprotected against bots and only 2.4% achieve full protection. The objective of this report is to help fraud and risk teams understand how automated threats are evolving, benchmark their organization's exposure against peers, and adopt intent-based detection strategies that stop malicious automation while allowing legitimate AI agents and customers through.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the fastest-growing bot attack vectors, including scraping, scalping, fake account creation, and credential stuffing, and how they impact e-commerce fraud losses.
  • Explain how AI agent traffic is shifting from passive crawling to high-risk login, cart, and payment endpoints, and why AI agent spoofing is on the rise.
  • Benchmark your organization's bot protection against peers by industry, region, and company size to uncover critical detection gaps.
  • Apply intent-based detection and AI agent access policies to reduce account takeover, card testing, and automated fraud across the full customer journey.
