The Hidden Costs of Trust: Rethinking Policy Abuse in Latin America’s Digital Commerce
As Latin America becomes one of the fastest-growing ecommerce markets, so too does the complexity of trust—between customers and merchants, policies and outcomes, identity and intent. This session explores how fraud, abuse, and evolving consumer behaviors are reshaping the definition of risk in the region. Drawing on data from billions in reviewed transactions and hundreds of identified fraud rings, we’ll examine why conventional models of fraud detection and policy enforcement fall short in dynamic markets like LatAm. Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of the spectrum of abuse, the invisible forces distorting trust, and how technology and collaboration can restore balance without compromising customer experience.
