Recertification

Recertification

Stay Certified

A renewed CPFPP certification can significantly enhance your professional credibility, keeping you updated with the latest industry trends and best practices. This knowledge is crucial for staying competitive and relevant in the rapidly evolving payments and fraud prevention fields.

Recertification Options

Upon earning the CPFPP credential, certification remains valid for three years from the date the CPFPP credential was awarded (one recertification cycle). Certificants can recertify by retaking the exam or by earning and reporting continuing education credits. Credits should be submitted for approval in the MRC Certification Portal.

Recertification With Credits

The credits encompass a broad spectrum of activities that the MRC believes reflect continual learning opportunities. These activities validate the professional’s knowledge and strengthen the Certified Payments and Fraud Prevention Professional by reinforcing essential skills and developing new ones.

Review general recertification requirements when applying based on earned credits:

  • One credit is equivalent to one continuing education credit (CPE, CE, etc.) OR one hour of educational activity.
  • Certificants must obtain 60 credits within a 3-year recertification cycle. At least 15 credits must be earned through the MRC.
  • Non-credit hours may be accepted on a case-by-case basis via self-attestation.
  • All credits must be related to the role of the Payments and Fraud Prevention Professional.
  • Credits must be distributed throughout the three-year recertification cycle.
  • Renewal applications and activity logs are due 30 days before the end of the recertification cycle.
  • Certificants are responsible for maintaining records of earned credits within the CPFPP certification portal.
