
Graphic Designer - Temp
The Merchant Risk Council (MRC) was founded in 2000 by a small group of merchants with a common desire to meaningfully address issues arising from an increase in eCommerce fraud. The MRC is a growing not-for-profit 501(c)6 organization. The MRC promotes coordinated efforts of the largest eCommerce organizations to support and improve online payments for merchants, solution providers, consumers, and other stakeholders.
The MRC currently offers US, European, APAC and LATAM centric programs and services and leads industry networking, education, benchmarking and advocacy programs. Since its inception, it has grown into a global organization with over 700 members consisting of hundreds of the largest brands found online with revenues measured in billions of dollars.
We are looking for a creative Graphic Designer to join our Creative Services team on a temporary basis. This role involves working on various design projects using provided templates and themes based on the provided content. This opportunity is set for 6 months with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role based on performance and alignment with our long-term goals.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create on-brand graphics for digital and print materials, including social media, email, blog, and website.
- Review event speaker PowerPoint presentations for branding, spelling, and grammar.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements.
- Interpret project briefs and translate them into visually engaging designs following brand guidelines.
- Utilize design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) to develop high-quality graphics.
- Incorporate feedback and make revisions to meet project expectations.
- Assist in managing and organizing design files and assets for efficient workflow.
- Stay updated on design trends and industry best practices.
Example List of Projects for a 40-hour week:
- Create personalized social graphic tiles for upcoming MRC conferences, these include personalized graphics with headshots, titles, session name for speakers, board members, exhibitors, and sponsors.
- Review event speaker PowerPoint presentations for branding, spelling, and grammar.
- Make revisions to graphics packages for an upcoming conference, including changes to the logo on email headers, eSignature graphics, newsletter banners, personalized social graphics, PDFs of event speaking session descriptions, MRC website, and Cvent web pages and emails.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience as a Graphic Designer with a strong portfolio of creative work.
- Proficiency in graphic design software, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Excellent understanding of design principles, color theory, typography, and layout techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility and adaptability to evolving project requirements.
- A preference is given to those pursuing a bachelor's degree in graphic design or a similar field.
