In a single home today, it is not uncommon to find more than a dozen devices connected to the Internet. As people connect more and more of these objects, it is only a matter of time before huge increases in unauthorized purchases being made via these technologies are observed.

This presentation kicks off with a look at what Internet of Things devices are and the three types of IoT devices from a commerce perspective. Examples of perils for both businesses and consumers are reviewed next, with particular emphasis placed on friendly fraud. The presentation concludes with practical steps merchants can take to combat IoT risks.
