MRC Board Open Positions

 

MRC Background

  • Established October 18, 2000, the MRC is a non-profit 501(6)c membership association serving payments and fraud prevention professionals globally.
  • The MRC Mission is to be the go-to place for eCommerce payment and fraud professionals globally to facilitate networking, education, and advocacy.
  • The MRC also manages the MRC Foundation, a 501(c) 3 charitable non-profit, established to help educate and collaborate with law enforcement in our industry.

MRC Organizational Structure

  • The MRC has a Global Board of Directors (GB) which ensures the MRC operates ethically and legally. Individuals on that body act as "trustees" of the public for the MRC's actions.
  • The MRC has four advisory boards: the Americas Advisory Board (AAB), the European Advisory Board (EAB), the APAC Advisory Board (APAC AB), and the LatAm Advisory Board (LATAM AB). Advisory boards generally have up to sixteen Advisors, and half of those must be merchants.
  • The MRC is run by a CEO who is managed by the Global Board. The CEO manages the day-to-day operations and, when appropriate, seeks input from the Global Board, and Advisory Boards. The CEO is ultimately responsible for meeting strategic goals and managing MRC staff.
  • The MRC has all the required financial reporting systems in place and has functioning financial overview from the MRC Finance Committee. The MRC has an annual audit. The Company's fiscal year runs from July 1 - June 30, which is in-line with board terms.
  • The MRC carries the necessary and appropriate insurance, including Directors and Officers liability insurance, and has personnel policies and financial controls in place.
  • The MRC has a Board Conflict of Interest Policy which all Directors and Advisors are required to complete.



Global Board of Directors Positions

 

The MRC Global Board Directors ensure the MRC continues to operate at the highest legal and ethical standards. The Company Directors act as "trustees" of the public for the MRC's actions. The MRC Global Board of Directors is charged with assessing the health of the organization, retains fiduciary responsibility for MRC operations, and participates in the creation and delivery of global long-term strategies and programs.

Each year the MRC Global Board of Directors opens seats for new applications, with candidates elected by the merchant membership. Qualified candidates will bring a unique perspective to the MRC, offering invaluable leadership, experience, and industry knowledge. MRC Board members are an integral part of the organization as their ideas, direction, and contributions provide guidance and support to the MRC.


There are 2 Merchant Seats and 2 Solution Provider Seats available. One Solution Provider seat will be a three year term and one will be a 15 month term.




Regional Advisory Board Positions

 

MRC Advisors participate in the creation and delivery of long-term strategies for their respective regions, as well as guide policy and program decisions in conjunction with the MRC Board of Directors. Qualified candidates will bring a unique perspective to the MRC, offering invaluable leadership, experience, and industry knowledge. Advisory Board members are an integral part of the organization as their ideas, direction, and contributions provide guidance and support to the MRC.
