Global Board of Directors Positions
The MRC Global Board Directors ensure the MRC continues to operate at the highest legal and ethical standards. The Company Directors act as "trustees" of the public for the MRC's actions. The MRC Global Board of Directors is charged with assessing the health of the organization, retains fiduciary responsibility for MRC operations, and participates in the creation and delivery of global long-term strategies and programs.
Each year the MRC Global Board of Directors opens seats for new applications, with candidates elected by the merchant membership. This year, the MRC is seeking applications for 1 merchant seat and 1 solution provider seat from candidates interested in joining the MRC Global Board of Directors.
Qualified candidates will bring a unique perspective to the MRC, offering invaluable leadership, experience, and industry knowledge. MRC Board members are an integral part of the organization as their ideas, direction, and contributions provide guidance and support to the MRC.
Applicants’ eligibility requirements:
- Applicants must be employed by an active MRC merchant member company or an active MRC solution provider member company (Ancillary and Issuer members may apply but will be required to upgrade to Solution Provider Membership if elected)
- If applying for a Solution Provider board seat, applicants must be employed by an Elite member, or ensure their employer is prepared to upgrade their membership to Elite status in the event they are elected
- If applying for a Merchant board seat, applicants must be employed by a Platinum MRC member or ensure their employer is prepared to upgrade to Platinum Member status
- Applicants must have completed at least one term on an MRC Advisory Board
- For Solution Provider applicants, a VP role or above is required
- Candidates must be willing and available to serve a term of three years
- Candidates must be willing to attend approximately 6 meetings a year (2 in person)
- Appointed candidates agree to sign the MRC Conflict of Interest Policy

Regional Advisory Board Positions
The MRC is also accepting applications from merchant and solution provider members based in Europe, North America or APAC that are interested in joining the MRC's European Advisory Board (EAB), Americas Advisory Board (AAB) or APAC Advisory Board respectively. MRC Advisors participate in the creation and delivery of long-term strategies for their respective regions, as well as guide policy and program decisions in conjunction with the MRC Board of Directors.
Qualified candidates will bring a unique perspective to the MRC, offering invaluable leadership, experience and industry knowledge. Advisory Board members are an integral part of the organization as their ideas, direction, and contributions provide guidance and support to the MRC.
Applicants’ eligibility requirements:
- Applicants must reside in Europe for the EAB, in North America for the AAB, or in the Asia-Pacific region for the APAC Advisory Board
- Applicants must be employed by an active MRC merchant member company or an active MRC solution provider member company
- If applying for a Solution Provider board seat, applicants must first seek approval from their employer, to upgrade their membership to Elite status in the event they are elected
- If applying for a Merchant board seat, applicants must be employed by a Platinum MRC member or ensure their employer is prepared to upgrade to Platinum Member status
- Candidates must be willing and available to serve a term of two years
- Candidates must be willing to attend approximately 6 meetings a year (2 in person)
- Appointed candidates agree to sign the MRC Conflict of Interest Policy

MRC Latin American Ambassadors Positions
In addition to filling the open Regional Advisory Board positions, the MRC is calling on members in the LATAM region to apply to become MRC Ambassadors, a precursor to being appointed to the MRC LATAM Advisory Board, once that regional board is officially established and ratified by the MRC Global Board of Directors.
