Expanding the Impact of your Trust and Safety Team Through Risk Mapping
Trust and Safety teams bring key skills to the table. We have the ability to look around the corner and see problems before they arise. We know how to ask probing questions to uncover red flags that might be buried. And we’re incredibly adept at solving problems through tradeoffs. While most companies understand the need for fraud prevention and dispute management, they fail to take full advantage of these other key skills across their business.
When the Trust and Safety team at Artsy was formed 2.5 years ago, our remit was fraud prevention and dispute management. Through risk mapping, we have been able to look across the business, uncover potential issues, and offer strategic insights from a perspective that was not previously represented in core leadership meetings. With each quarterly risk map, our team was able to offer new insight and solutions and as a result, was asked to expand our remit to include those new areas.
This presentation will discuss the three styles of risk maps the Artsy team has utilized to build and scale our impact. We will offer insight into how to create each type of map, when and where to deploy them, and how to get buy in from key stakeholders at your company.
