Welcome to Australia, eCommerce Payments and Fraud Prevention Pros! MRC's APAC Region Manager Romeo Talento here, coming to you from beautiful Melbourne — and on 18 June, we're bringing you the biggest and best eCommerce, payments, and fraud prevention event in Australia!

MRC Melbourne 2024 is Australia’s new go-to for ANZ eCommerce Payments and Fraud insights. We are growing in Australia and this one-day conference promises to be better than last year. During the conference, you will be able to leverage professional development opportunities, connect with industry experts, and stay informed about the latest ANZ trends. MRC Melbourne features engaging discussions with leaders in Australia payments and fraud space, including local merchants, issuers, and solution providers. We will kick off with a compelling plenary keynote session from the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) in which we will be exploring the efficiency, competition, and safety issues in online payments, across cards, BNPL, and account-to-account payment methods.

We are excited to be hosting our second annual conference in Melbourne, where the city is rich with merchants and opportunities for MRC to expand.

Here are the 8 reasons you cannot miss MRC Melbourne 2024:

  1. Updated Industry Insights: The payments and fraud prevention landscape in ANZ is constantly evolving. Attending this year's one-day conference will provide attendees with the latest trends, technologies, and strategies that have emerged over the past year. From PayTo to Connect ID, attendees will grab insights on these emerging technologies.
  2. Networking Opportunities: The conference is an excellent opportunity to reconnect with industry peers, form new partnerships, and expand professional networks. Meeting with new attendees and returning colleagues can open doors to collaborative opportunities and valuable business connections. Take advantage of our concluding networking reception. (Plus, I heard there will be a few networking receptions from our sponsors after the conclusion of our conference.)
  3. New Speakers and Sessions: Each year, the conference features a different lineup of speakers and sessions. This year’s event promises fresh perspectives and innovative ideas from leading experts in the field. Featured speaking companies include Australian Payments Plus, Baby Bunting, Coles, Canva, Flight Centre, Google and more!
  4. Cutting-Edge Solutions: Our seven sponsors will showcase their services in the industry at our exhibit area. Attendees can explore new solutions that can help their organizations stay ahead of the curve in risk management and payment processing. Many thanks to our sponsors: Accertify, Checkout.com, Ethoca, Forter, Kount/Equifax, Volt.io, and Worldpay.
  5. Interactive Panel Discussions: Engaging in interactive panel discussions allows attendees to ask questions and gain diverse perspectives on pressing issues. This year’s panels will cover new and timely topics relevant to the industry, such as payment orchestration, AI, and updates in tokenisation.
  6. Community Building: MRC conferences foster a sense of community among its attendees. Returning to the conference helps strengthen this community, contributing to a shared commitment to advancing the field of risk management and payments.
  7. Location, Location, Location: Melbourne is a captivating destination known for its vibrant cultural scene, stunning architecture, and diverse culinary delights. Renowned as the cultural capital of Australia, Melbourne boasts world-class museums, theatres, galleries, and its famous café culture. Melbourne offers a dynamic and enriching experience for travelers from all walks of life.
  8. Free admission for Merchants and Issuers: This one-day conference is free to all merchants (whether you're an MRC member or not). As we are growing the MRC community in Australia and New Zealand, we believe this would be a great way for merchants to come together.
