MRC RAPID Edu Fraud Essentials

Fraud Essentials is designed to explain fraudsters' motivations and methods, as well as ways to identify, detect, prevent, and mitigate fraudulent activities. Fraud trends and risk mitigation best practices are also presented. This course is designed to give new fraud investigators and analysts a solid foundation of knowledge for their position, and to give eCommerce professionals who are new to risk mitigation a thorough introduction to online fraud prevention.

The Fraud Essentials course addresses nine objectives:

  1. Define and summarize fraud
  2. Identify and describe fraudsters, fraud motivations, and fraud attack methods
  3. Differentiate between internal and external fraudsters
  4. Explain the payment, product, and technology ecosystems
  5. Distinguish, analyze, and classify fraud methods and issues
  6. Evaluate and apply fraud prevention methods
  7. Employ techniques to mitigate and respond to fraud
  8. Apply best practices
  9. Discuss and explain fraud trends
The course takes approximately 4 - 5 hours to complete. It also includes a final assessment to ensure the learner understands the material. After successfully passing the final assessment, the learner will receive a certificate of completion from the MRC.

RAPID Edu Refund Policy
For the Rapid EDU Program (self-study), refunds and cancellations are determined on a case-by-case basis. Cancellations and requests for refunds must be communicated in writing to programs@merchantriskcouncil.org. Refunds will not be issued once a course has been started. Additionally, courses must be completed within one year of purchase.
