The Merchant Risk Council continues to innovate by providing members with unique opportunities to engage and reach members and non-members alike. The MRC now offers you another way showcase your industry expertise and reach a global audience through educational courses.
What is RAPID Edu Marketplace?
The MRC RAPID Edu Marketplace is an educational program allowing thought leaders to develop new courses for hosting on the MRC RAPID Edu platform. Subject matter experts create the courses, and the MRC will host, accredit, and market the courses to members and non-members. Additionally, the MRC will help provide educational and technical guidance regardless of whether you create the course yourself or use a third party to help you develop the course.
Do not worry if you need a third party; we have partnered with a great organization which can help you develop the course faster.

To begin the process, please review the information below, which provides guidelines and requirements for MRC members to contribute educational content for the MRC RAPID Edu Marketplace program. Note that course topics are available on a first come, first served basis, and the MRC Education Committee may decline approval of a course if a similar topic was submitted previously.

Roles and Responsibilities
|MRC member||-Creating the course content (in-house or third-party)
-Question suggestions for knowledge checks and course exams
-Editing grammar, spelling, etc.
-Testing to ensure course works as designed

-Provide guidance on course creation

Course Development Process
The diagram below illustrates the course creation process for the RAPID Edu Program.
Member Application -- The member will complete the RAPID Edu Marketplace Submission Form which captures the education requirements.
- Course Approval -- The application will be reviewed by the MRC Programs team and the MRC Education Committee. Applications may take up to 30 days to review as the Education Committee meets monthly to evaluate submissions.
- Content Delivery -- Upon approval of the course, the member will create and deliver content to the MRC. The member will use an MRC-provided template with the appropriate educational requirements and content for the course.
- Content Review -- The MRC and Education Committee (if available) will review the quality of the content and recommend changes as needed.
- Course Implementation -- Once review is complete, the member will create the course and deliver the SCORM files to the MRC. The member may create the SCORM files or use a third party, such as Yukon Learning. The MRC will upload the SCORM files and create appropriate test questions to meet accreditation.
- Course Testing -- After the course is completed, it will be uploaded to the learning management system (LMS) and tested by MRC, the MRC member, and the MRC Education Committee (as available).
Course Launch -- Once testing is complete the course will be launched. This includes pricing and promotion.
Support -- The MRC Programs team will be available to help clarify and provide feedback to the course developers as necessary.
|The course must be educational in nature||Any sales, product, or other marketing content is prohibited. The company may include one slide/page with:
-An instructor bio
-Basic company information and logo
|Content must be created by at least one subject matter expert from your organization||A subject matter expert is defined as an individual who exhibits the highest level of expertise and in-depth knowledge about the content of the course.
Examples include experience as a Senior Fraud Analyst, Payments Manager, Data Scientist, etc. Those with professional certifications such as CFE, CISM, CISSP, etc. are also considered to be SMEs.
|Topics must relate to the specialized knowledge of payments and fraud industry||Topics such as card-not-present fraud, account takeovers, payment methods, fraud prevention techniques, recurring payments, etc.
|Learning objectives||Learning objectives are the key educational milestones for the learner.
|Prerequisite knowledge and advanced preparation||Describe any prerequisites or advanced preparation needed for the course. Examples:
-Two years of fraud experience
-Reading an industry report
|PowerPoint slide deck||A PowerPoint slide deck using the MRC RAPID Edu template will be required for development and review.
|Completed SCORM files||The member should complete a SCORM file for each module of their course. The member should use Articulate to create the course and the associated SCORM file.
|Audio||Audio must be clean and free of errors -- no background noise, beeps, etc.
|Visual||Images should be at 150 DPI or higher.

What does the course creator receive?
- Recognition for creating course content
- Contact information for learners who opt-in
- Analytics and feedback for the course overall
- Industry thought leadership
- Opportunity to educate existing client base and potential new customers
Course Maintenance -- Courses covering subjects which change frequently will be reviewed by a subject matter expert at least once per year. This includes revisions to applicable codes, laws, rulings, decisions, interpretations, etc. Otherwise, course content will be reexamined at least once every two years and may be updated or removed to ensure relevancy.
Ownership of Content -- The MRC owns all content and courses once they have been submitted. This helps the MRC ensure every RAPID Edu course meets accreditation requirements. All proceeds will go towards the development of educational resources and programs for MRC members.
